2012 Honda Civic Hybrid's
The 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid received substantial changes including a new, larger engine.Like the model it replaces, the latest Civic Hybrid utilizes additional eco-friendly designs to set it apart from its traditional siblings. The Civic Hybrid's i-MID contains an exclusive hybrid power-flow meter display in addition to the standard information screens.
The good: The 2012 Civic Hybrid is currently the most fuel-efficient Honda that money can buy. The poor Honda Civic Hybrid has always had to live in the shadows. It's even harder to tell a 2012 Civic Hybrid from a standard 2012 Civic at a glance.
Add it all up and the Civic Hybrid now finishes the EPA's test cycle with a rated fuel economy of 44 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined.
Starting in terms of best fuel efficiency, you have the Honda Civic Hybrid in sedan only, which is estimated to return 45 mpg city/highway combined. That's 4 mpg better than the combined mileage of the outgoing Civic Hybrid and Honda Insight. The Civic Hybrid, Civic HF, standard sedan and coupe, and a natural-gas-powered Civic GX will also feature the Eco Assist system the company has put in its CR-Z hybrid coupe.
The 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid ranks 23 out of 40 Affordable Small Cars. In preliminary EPA tests, Honda also reports that the Civic Hybrid’s fuel economy has increased to 44/44 mpg city/highway, up from the 2011 model’s 40/43 mpg city/highway. There aren’t many affordable small hybrids that compete with the 2012 Civic Hybrid. For a hybrid with better performance, try the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.
