2012 Mitsubishi ASX review

                                                                      2012 Mitsubishi ASX

The addition of a reversing camera and reversing sensors in the Platinum ASX boosts driver visibility and awareness. MMAL vice-president of Customer and Brand Management, Paul Unerkov, welcomed the ASX Platinum to the Mitsubishi range saying he expects the feature-packed edition to be popular at Mitsubishi dealerships across Australia.

The ASX Platinum is powered by the efficient 2.0-litre MIVEC four-cylinder engine, and is available as a two-wheel drive with manual or CVT transmission.
ASX Platinum features Active Stability Control, dual front, side and curtain and driver’s knee SRS airbags,

ABS braking system with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution body system.
All Mitsubishi models will get either full-electric or plug-in petrol-electric hybrid powertrains as an option alongside conventional petrol and diesel engines.

Although powering the front wheels in normal driving, the PX-MiEV can switch to all-wheel drive by powering an electric motor on the rear axle when wheel slip is detected.

The 2012 Mitsubishi ASX update is now on sale in Australia. The $3700 Luxury Pack adds Bluetooth and full steering wheel functionality, along with an electro-chromatic mirror with rear view camera, leather upholstery, heated front seats and power operated driver’s seat. Mechanically the 2012 Mitsubishi ASX is unchanged from the 2011 model.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2012 the speed electric power alone

                                                      Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Model-year 2012 marks the seventh year that Toyota’s Highlander mid-size SUV has been available as a hybrid. In 2011, the Highlander Hybrid received what the auto industry calls a “mid-cycle refresh.” For 2012, the Highlander Hybrid has no significant changes. For even greater emphasis on efficiency, Toyota has outfitted the Highlander Hybrid with both “EV” and “Econ” driving modes. Though the Highlander Hybrid is a four-wheel-drive vehicle, it is not suited for off-road driving. Base models are equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, while the Limited trim brings 19-inch alloy wheels and a power rear liftgate.

Interior

The big plus inside is standard third-row seating. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid offers a wonderful 40/20/40-split second-row bench seat. With all rear seats stowed away, the Highlander Hybrid allows for a voluminous 94 cubic feet of storage area.
The Highlander Hybrid is available in both base and Limited trim levels. Base models come well equipped with seven-passenger seating, air-conditioning with rear climate control, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel and eight-way power driver’s seat. The Limited model adds leather interior with a 10-way power driver’s seat and four-way power front passenger seat that are both heated, power moonroof and three-zone climate control.

Both the hybrid and standard Highlander are car-based — or crossover — midsize SUVs based on the Toyota Camry sedan. Car and Driver had this to say: “Despite its electric bits, the hybrid drives almost exactly like a conventional Highlander. The 2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

The Highlander Hybrid offers 280 horsepower and can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while the Ford Escape Hybrid rates at a much less useful 177 horsepower, with a towing capacity of only 1,000 pounds. Toyota Highlander Hybrid Highlander is based on the popular, gasoline-electric engine boasts a more environmentally friendly hybrid that produces very good fuel economy and lower emissions.
